Cake & Desserts: Jennuine Cakes Café
Venue: Kidzvlle (indoor playhouses that resemble a city – such as a bank, salon, grocery store, restaurant, library, and veterinary office). The best part, there is a coffee bar for all the parents to enjoy while their kids play!
Decor: I built a backdrop by purchasing pipe and drape (Amazon). I layered construction tape hanging down from one end to the other while hanging balloons from the top of the backdrop. (Hint: I bought a balloon decorating strip which helped evenly hang the balloons). I filled the cake table with dump trucks (used my son’s toys from home), orange construction cones (Amazon), and rocks (that were actually chocolate inside from Hobby Lobby). I purchased personalized favor boxes (Zazzle) that looked like little tool boxes and made a speed limit sign – showing “3” (which is how old my son was turning).
For the kids seating table, I laid down a black table cloth with a table runner that looked like a road (also from Hobby Lobby). Each place seating had a construction hat (the kid wore it during the cake cutting) and alternating colors of balloons tied to each chair for the kids to take home. My son had the best time and even sang along with everyone to a happy birthday!
